Today, we had some Chana Dal over Saffron Rice, along with salad and a beet soup I made. I LOVED the dal. It was fantastic!
My husband asked me what that flavor was in the dal and I replied that it was cinnamon, and he was surprised. Little does he know that I’ve used cinnamon in my lentil soup many times before, but your dal had a stronger flavor than my soups. What I like about the dal is that it seems to be lower in fat than the sauces, yet it doesn’t lack in flavor, because of the rich spices. This is truly a winner!
A good friend of mine was over today, she was adopted by an Indian family when she was about 16 - long story. So she’s been eating Indian food for a while, and cooking it herself too, but she thought your chana dal and the rice were outstanding in flavor and quality.
No pictures this time. I didn’t make anything myself. I just used your prepared meals and heated them.
