This is the 4th video in the series of cooking shows featuring Basu’s Homestyle Indian vegan sauces. Jon Ham and Julieanna Hever teach you how to make a brown rice pasta dish with veggies and Basu’s Peanut Masala sauce. It is something different for you to try and it sure is delicious and the final product is full of nutrients, fiber, and it tastes fantastic!
Here is Part 3 in our series of cooking videos with Jon Ham and Julieanna Hever demonstrating how you can create a healthy plant-based meal using one of Basu's Homestyles Indian Vegan sauces. This one is using a Vegan Masala Sauce that is out of this world tasty! We pressed some tofu to mimic the taste of cheese or "Paneer," then added some vegetable broth, frozen peas, canned tomatos, and of course the Masala Sauce. It probably took 10 minutes to make from start to finish, and it tasted fantastic!
This is the second video in the series of Jon Ham and Julieanna Hever cooking healthy meals in just minutes using Basu’s Homestyle sauces. In this video, we used Basu’s Chana Dal sauce and sautéed cauliflower in vegetable broth, added garbanzo beans, the Chana Dal Sauce, and then added it to a bed of salad to get some greens in. The food was fantastic, healthy, and hardly took any time to create.
Here is Jon Ham from www.fitnesstrainingbyjon.com and Julieanna Hever www.plantbaseddietitian.com creating some healthy plant based or vegan recipes using our sauces which can be found in Whole Foods. This recipe is a vindaloo veggie stirfry with broccoli, mushrooms, red bell pepper, bok choy and brown rice. Vegetable broth is used to saute' the veggies.
Here at Rancho Las Flores, we have a family dinner every week which includes our extended family, various friends, and anyone else we’re entertaining.
Over the course of the last few months, about half of our number have gone vegetarian, with the majority going Vegan. This has, in turn, made cooking for the family a challenge. We've had several vegetarian curries which went down well, so when Basu suggested we try his dishes, everyone was excited.
How to sum up the reaction the family had to Basu's food? Giddy? Excited? Wildly enthusiastic? All of the above!!
The big hits were the peanut masala sauce over roasted potatoes (they vanished almost immediately), the vindaloo sauce (several people said it would make gravel appetizing), and the tamarind chutney was a huge hit (there were lots of comments about its richness and complexity and how well it went with the other sauces). I am particularly fond of the pineapple chutney - without a doubt one of the greatest chutneys I have ever eaten.
What struck everyone was how balanced and deep the flavors were. I've been a fan of curry for more than 30 years, and Basu's dishes are world class. I can unreservedly recommend them. Your stomach and your family will thank you.
